This week we went to Yellowstone on our trip. We got to see a lot of cool things: buffalo, geysers, hot spring pools, etc.
We missed a day of formal school traveling back to Utah. We had a light rest of the week, because Grammy and Aunt Whitney were here and we had a lot of other field trips with them (movie theater, pumpkin patch, Trick or Treating at Daddy's work on Friday)
The rest of the week in math, Brenden did his lesson 26 test (writing out factors of numbers), reviewed his times tables with the multiplication wrap up, and started his new lesson (writing out numbers as words, learning how to say hundreds of millions and thousands. He also learned that 1 pound=16 ounces.)
In English, he diagrammed all four types of sentences. He finished up his spelling book with a review of his last few lessons and started his next level of spelling by reviewing simple words. I looked and the next lessons will be more difficult.
History: I didn't have him do.
Engineering: He built the wheels and axles sample car. He said it was fun because it wasn't too difficult to build.
French: I didn't have him do.
Malcolm
Math: He started his new lesson on how to add hundreds. It wasn't difficult for him.
English: In reading, he learned words with SC, SK, SN, and ST blends. Learning them wasn't very hard, I'm pretty sure his ability in reading is beyond where he is in OPGTR, but he whines when I ask him to read the stories. I keep forgetting to write them out on the whiteboard. Everything's better on the whiteboard.
History: I didn't have him do.
Engineering: He built the same sample car that Brenden did, but he also built a ramp for the car to jump off of.
PE: Malcolm went to his tumbling class this week. He did much better at paying attention to his teacher and working hard.
