Something stupid

I did something stupid yesterday. 10 minutes before he had to leave for work, I decided that I was going to drop Corey off at work so I could have the car. Pigby was still asleep, Chuck was still asleep, and Digby had a dirty diaper that needed changing. Being the awesomeness that is me, I took care of it and got us ready on time.

We dropped him off and went to Target. I fed Chuck in the van, since I didn't want to deal with a screaming baby. Always best to get that out of the way first. My main goal was to look for sleepers for her. She keeps kicking off her blanket and this summer, when she's wearing short sleeved things, I don't want her getting cold. I took my envelope labeled "Chuck's clothing fund". I got Pigby 4 pairs of shorts for $4 each. I got Digby 4 sets of short sleeved pajamas, $30 total. And I got Chuck 6 sleepers, $8 each. The total came to $110 with tax. Now I'm regretting it. Girls clothes are so cute, it's so easy to get carried away. I'll probably be returning those sleepers and Digby's pajamas. He can just wear his everyday clothes to bed.

I was finally accepted to a homeschooling Yahoo group. I found out they will be hosting a swap. The lady said they always have a ton of girl clothes. Hopefully I'll be able to find Chuck some sleepers there. If not, there's always yard sales and maybe the DI. I know DI doesn't have very many boy clothes, but I've never really paid attention to the girl clothes.

We went to the mall after Target. Somewhere along the way, Digby pulled off his shoes and chucked them off the stroller. I have no idea where and we went back and retraced our steps. I'm gonna call and see if the mall has a lost and found or something. You know that commercial where the dad is dipping his sons feet in some kind of plaster because they're sick of socks that don't fit well? Well, I'm thinking Digby should be getting his feet dipped in plaster, because he's always taking his shoes off. He did it at Target too, only I was lucky enough to trip over them and notice. And if we can't find them *sigh* I don't want to think about.

In good news, I found some cute kicks for myself. My $30 flats from Target have been ripping apart. I knew I wanted sandals, because I hate tennis shoes, that weren't flip flop style, because those are harder to keep on your feet, that could also be worn to church, because I'm anomaly among women, I only have three pairs of shoes. I ended up getting these ones. There is a little bit of a heel, but not too bad and they are extremely comfortable. I was so excited that I actually showered and shaved my legs and wore cute shorts instead of yoga pants and a cute shirt to match the cute shorts.

DH had to turn in a mandatory shift bid. We got lucky, he was only 56 out of 200+. We went with the 4 day week first, but those ran out. He got his 16th pick, M-F 12-830pm. He is hoping that he'll be able to switch back to his 9-530 time, since they just approved that two weeks ago! Oh well, either way, we're lucky he got a M-F one so he could keep his Saturday job and so he can go to church. We picked the M-F shifts first and after that went with the ones that had Sundays off, even though it would have meant giving up the Saturday job. We're lucky it didn't come to that.

I also bought a subscription to plantoeat.com. I'm just so tired of having to menu plan and figure out shopping lists for it. I'm considering it my bday present from my inlaws. It's a long story. But now I'm happy to have something to make menu planning easier. And I'm fairly adamant that I'm going to be telling Corey to pull out $200 every paycheck for groceries. It's just getting too difficult to keep track of and we need to make certain we stay on budget.

I also want to get these things. Hoping that would make lunch and snacks easier. Anything they don't eat for lunch gets saved for a snack. Plus Corey could use it to take to work. Plus we'd have something for when we go to the park and field trips. I might just use some of the returned money from Chuck's clothing fund.

Baby Chuck is three months old today. And just as chunky as ever. I will try to bathe her and put her in some cute clothes and take some pics. Also, the bassinet is only good til three months. I guess we're going to have to put the pack n play up for her and use that.
