Potty training and flour throwing

I get stressed easily. Very easily. Right now I'm stressed about potty training Digby. He's barely two. Apparently it can be done. I sure hope so, because we just can't afford diapers for two anymore and Corey still refuses to give in to cloth diapering. So now I'm feeding Digby chips (nice and salty and hopefully making him thirsty) and apple juice (hopefully making it easy to down a lot of liquid). Can I just say how much I hate potty training? I would much prefer cloth diapering both kids for another year, just to put this off and not have to deal with the inevitable accidents. Way to go Corey, thank you for making my life more difficult.

In funnier news, yesterday I was so tired (baby girl has been waking 3-4 times a night) that at the end of school I gave Pigby a plate of flour and told him he could write his spelling words in them while I took a nap. I woke up when Digby woke from his nap. We went downstairs and of course Digby had to join in the flouring fun.

There's a scene in Hoodwinked Too where Granny Puckett takes a handful of flour and blows it across the hall to reveal a bunch of lasers. Of course, my two little geniuses had to try it for themselves to see if it would work. Well we have no hidden lasers in our house, but blowing a bunch of flour at each other is apparently just as fun. When Corey got home from work, Digby looked like a ghost. He showered the two boys while I started cleaning. Then when he was done, baby girl woke from her nap. He got her and discovered a blowout and since he's the world's biggest baby, I cleaned the poopy mess while he finished cleaning the kitchen. I think I got the better end (oh look, an inadvertent pun) of that deal. Big baby.

So school:

Last week went really well. He ended up getting 100% on his spelling test. We did school Monday-Thursday. On Friday we were supposed to do it after going to park day. But I was in such a grumpy mood, all I wanted to do was snuggle and make sure he was loved. We caught up a little over the weekend and on Monday. Now we're caught up and he's doing well. He's surprisingly good at spelling. On this week's pretest, he missed one word again. I'm sure he'll get another 100% on his test.

  1. I'd much rather clean up a baby blowout than a kitchen. :D
