Dec 1-5

Monday-Our school room is set up and functional. I'm so happy with it. Today was obviously a Monday after a long break. He was wiggly and working slow and had a hard time concentrating.

Math-He's now on lesson 10 in MUS. He's working on the 9 times tables. He's doing really well with it and not struggling at all, other than the speed at which he did today's work. He's going rather slow.

English-In PLL, he had to fill in and complete sentences that answered the question "Where?" I'm pretty sure he just filled the blank in with "there" for each one. Then he had to copy the sentences again. He practiced more typing. The end of the lesson gave him a little report card. He's typing with a 62% accuracy and at a rate of three words per minute. I told him that it's ok and that he'll get better the more he types. In grammar, we looked at a book to find the title, author, table of contents, and index. He had to copy sentences.

TUESDAY
In math, he did two more pages from lesson 10.
In history, he read two chapters from Walk The World's Rim. He dislikes this book, but he's almost finished with it. We also learned about the conquistadors and explorers of the New World. We plotted out travel routes on the globe and added a lot of events to our timeline.
In English, he did typing practice. In spelling, he started a new word list: the different "o" and "u" sounds and the two ways to make the /z/ sound. We used the board and the tiles to learn and practice.
In French, he did a lesson. He did it by himself, so I'm not exactly sure how well he did.

WEDNESDAY-This is our day off. He does reading and he went to science class. After science class, he brought home a game that demonstrates how our bodies use food to give energy to our cells and how our bodies use oxygen to keep the cells alive.

THURSDAY
English-In FLL, he practiced dividing nouns into persons, places, things, and idea categories. He also practiced adding "s" to certain words to make them plural. In spelling, he practiced writing the new word list in cursive.
In PLL, he did more questions where he had to fill in the blank to answer the question "where?" Again, he filled in the blank with the word "there." He also had to copy the sentences.

FRIDAY
English-in FLL, Brenden learned how to add "es" to certain words to make them plural. He also did copywork in print because he didn't want to do any in cursive.
In spelling, he did dictation sentences. He did a couple in cursive and the rest in print.
In math, he took the lesson 10 test and got 100%.
