Dec 15-19

On Sunday of this week, we drove down to St. George. Grandma wanted to see some old friends of hers. We went to the Temple Visitor's Center. Brenden learned a lot about the history of the temple and the city being built. He asked one of the volunteers about the steeple. It's been rebuilt three times. We also went to Brigham Young's winter home and took a tour. We learned about the history of the Civil War and its effect on Utah. We learned about the town's attempts at growing cotton and silk worms. We learned about the fruit plants that can grow here (everything except citrus). We saw artifacts in the home and learned about them. It wasn't during regular school hours, but it was still a great history lesson about our state.

On Monday, we recovered from the 8 hour trip. Tuesday and Wednesday, we didn't do school either. We wanted to spend every minute with Grandma. She helped us make baklava and the kids helped. She made cupcakes and the kids helped. She helped the kids make one more tshirt for their other grandma.

On Thursday, all I could get Brenden to do was math. He did two pages of MUS.

On Friday, he did two more pages of MUS and he did one page of PLL and one page of grammar.

During the whole week, he kept reading. He always reads.
